The Australasian Union Conference extends our sincere condolences to the Silva Family. May God comfort each one of you through the loss of your loved one.
It is with great sadness that we wish to inform you that our dear Sister Alexandrina fell asleep in Jesus on the 6th August 2020 in the city of São Paulo, Brazil. In faith, we look forward to the resurrection morning, when we will once more be with our loved ones. “For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.” 1 Thessalonians 4:14-18.
Sister Alexandrina was a dedicated wife to Brother Davi P. Silva who was the General Conference President for two terms: 2011-2019. She made many sacrifices in order to travel alongside her husband and support him in the ministry. We were privileged to meet and fellowship with her when she accompanied her husband during some of his visits to Australia.
Sister Silva was a role model to those around her. Her contagious smile, gentleness, and eagerness to minister through her hospitality was a testament on behalf of her character. She will be sorely missed by many.
“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.” Revelation 21:4.
May each one of us look forward to the time when we will once more meet with her!
