We thank God for giving us the opportunity to share in a very memorable day as Nathan Wiseman, Jane Wiseman and Hannah Pow committed their lives to God. The day was cool, but the sun shone warm and our hearts rejoiced.
On Sabbath afternoon we had the Profession of Faith where Br Alasdair spoke to the youth about their decision to join the army of God. “In God, we can turn our weakness into strength.” As they meet temptation in the coming years, He will be there to guide and strengthen them. They in turn confirmed their commitment and their desire to give their hearts and lives to God in baptism.
We assembled on the banks of the channel beside Farm 95 and sang the beautiful words “Oh Happy Day that fixed my choice, on Thee my Saviour and my God”.
The water was cold, but it was an emotional moment watching as Nathan, then Jane, then Hannah were baptised. I feel so privileged to have been present during this very special event and pray that others will be prompted to follow their example.
